Engel completed work on its sophomore album at Puk studio in Gjerlev, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Himsa, Sick Of It All). The band is currently seeking a new label home following its split with Spv Records which issued Engel's debut album, "Absolute Design", in 2007.
"Absolute Design" received its long-awaited U.S. release on May 20, 2008 via Spv/Steamhammer.
In Flames frontman Anders Fridén helped his old friend Niclas (they both played together in Passenger) record demos and assisted in the production of the "Absolute Design" CD at Dug-Out Studios in Uppsala with Daniel Bergstrand (producer of In Flames, Meshuggah).
